Book Review-Living Dead in Dallas by Charlaine Harris

Sookie is mourning the violent death of her friend Lafayette who was found dead outside the bar that she works in but she has little time to do anything about it. Stan, the leader of the Dallas Vampires, wants to find a missing member of his group who vanished from a vampire bar in the city.He hires Sookie from Eric to go down and read the minds of the humans from the bar in the hope of getting information. Bill is going with her for protection which is lucky as someone at the airport tries to kidnap her. It seems that the anti-vampire movement may have had something to do with the kidnap and Sookie must go undercover on a dangerous mission. And of course Eric cannot resist coming along for the ride.
Another brilliant Sookie adventure! This one has a big starring role for the wonderful Eric who is just one of my favourite vampires ever. I loved the plot with the missing vampire and showing that humans can also be real monsters when the mood takes them and Godrey's story was surprisingly moving. It made me wish that human versions of him would take the same course of action. The other plot with Lafayette's death was also good and leads to some fantastic Eric moments that will have you in stitches. His reaction to Sookie asking him for help at the club is priceless and I also love the character of Pam. This is a great vampire book with the quirky heroine, humour, action  and adventure that you expect in this brilliant series.
