Book Review-Evernight by Claudia Gray

Bianca doesn't want to attend creepy Evernight boarding school where her parents are new teachers but they insist it is for her own good. At least being with the new boy Lucas helps her to deal with some of the unpleasant students that she encounters. However Bianca and almost all the other students share a dangerous secret and her carelessness is about to put them all in a lot of danger.

Every time I read a YA book about boarding schools, the hero/heroine always hates it and feels like an outsider, there are always the bitchy In Crowd who pick on the others...it is more or less the same plot just with different characters each time. Bianca and Lucas are just the same doomed lovers except you find out that she is a vampire and he is a slayer sent to infiltrate the school and protect its few human students. It's an ok story but nothing great to write home about.

It was obvious from the start that Bianca was a vampire-there are enough huge hints to bring down an elephant so I wasn't exactly surprised by the big reveal. And the way Lucas was at their first meeting made it very guessable that he knew about the vampires and was there to stop them. So not much shock or surprise going on there.

An average typical YA vampire romance that will appeal to most of its target market.
